Users can buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash for as little as $1 through the PayPal website or app
All eligible PayPal users in the UK now have the opportunity to buy, hold and sell four key cryptocurrencies directly from their PayPal accounts, announced the US-based online payments giant.
According to PayPal UK, the company's customers in the country now have access to an encryption service compatible with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
"We are delighted to share that all eligible UK customers can now buy, hold and sell #Cryptocurrencies #Bitcoin, #Ethereum, #Bitcoin Cash & #Litecoin from their PayPal account. Stay tuned for this in the PayPal app, " tweeted the company.
Although PayPal has just added cryptocurrency purchasing services to its UK platform, the original press release about the launch came in August. This was nearly a year after the company launched the service to the US market in October 2020.
The service's availability to cryptocurrency users across the UK means that the company is completing the first phase of its planned worldwide expansion.
In addition to supporting the purchase, sale or hodling of the four supported cryptocurrencies, the cryptocurrency feature also gives customers the chance to monitor and track prices in real time.
Customers can also use the due diligence application, with an interface that allows access to educational resources about digital assets.
The company will offer the cryptocurrency service in partnership with Paxos Trust Company, a platform-as-a-service (PAAS) provider based in New York.
